Lucie Jones: X-Factor here we come!
12/10/09- The superb Lucie Jones has managed to safely steer her way
through the opening week of the post-audition shows for the x factor.
Kandy Rain were the unlucky performers to be evicted from the
contest first after being one of the lowest voted for two with Rachel
Adedeji. Lucie covered Footprints In The Sand, originally by Leona
Lewis, and sailed fairly easily into next weeks show.
Lucie Jones is the latest singing star to hit the headlines thanks to
ITVs X-factor music show. The 18-year-old Welsh singer won a
standing ovation and a pass to the next stage of the ITV music content
after belting out Whitney Houston's I will Always Love You on her first
appearance.
Admiration from the judges was unanimous, with Simon Cowell was
forced to swallow his words (he had been skeptical of her track
choice). The former adventure scout, from Pentyrch, Cardiff, impressed
an unsure Simon Cowell who had asked "Are you sure you want to do that
song?" After hearing her rendition, the beaming promoter told her it
was one of the most challenging tracks in the word to perform.
Well done Miss Lucie Jones!
Fellow judge Louis Walsh told the overjoyed teenager: "Some people
were born to sing. You were born to sing. Everything is going to change
for you from this day on." Without a doubt he thought she was a
terrific singer.
"This is my ticket out of the little village on top of a hill, with
all the sheep" said Lucie Jones to the X Factor judges "This is my
dream, I've never wanted to do anything else. I'm now one step closer,"
she told them.
We'll be supporting Lucie Jones every step of the way. She's a
terrific singer and we're sure she'll make it all the way to the final
show.
